WHY: Earlier this year I hosted my 21st birthday at BAKU restaurant in London, intrigued by this up and coming cosmpolitan city I checked out art exhibitons and the new Conde Nast magazine Baku founded and edited by Leyla Aliyeva. So when I was invited last weekend to visit it was an unusal weekend getaway opportunity I couldn’t miss.

WHO: Our British Baku Collective included Culutural Entrepreuners and Artists from Polly Morgan and Matt Colinshaw to Hamish Jenkinson, Pablo Ganguli, Tomas Auksas Biology student supremo George Birch.

WARDROBE: 9 out of 11 existing climate zones are present in Azerbaijan so my eclectically packed LV Holdall included everything from a vintage cape and fur muff to a bikini! Twenty 8 Twelve and HOBBS NW3 jackets and jumpers were perfect for the winter sunshine whilst a David Koma Dress and Miu Miu shoes were fun for the evening!

TECH BITE: FASHION FILMS GET SHOPPABLE

YouTube first began testing a feature that puts links to external sites within videos and ads this spring. Fashion brands Juicy Couture have been recently used the new capability to create YouTube videos that resemble moving catalogs or shoppable videos. This is the first time an advertising platform the size of YouTube has enabled shoppable videos and video ads. ( Gotta say am a big fan of Juicy’s videos)

Whats annoying is that every time you click the video stops and opens in a new page, what’s also odd is that they don’t have the video on the product page. Over at MYFLASHTRASH.COM we try to integrate a whole experience into the product with a video, street style image and any relevant press/ celebrities. What do you think is the video shopping future? @amberatherton

SPRING/SUMMER 2013 FIRST EDIT

11.11.12

What better way to spend a wintery, November day than lusting over two of my favourite spring/summer’13 collections!

Ghesquière’s  brilliantly provocotive spring collection. Graphically cut, minimalist mid rift exposure. Lovely to see the use of a signature  pendant necklace on every look too.

Lego like, 3D bordered, sensational FENDI! So coherently abstract. Love the graphic bangles and headbands too. Just seamlessly chic, quite literally, designs were made using saldatura, some kind of electrical welding, instead of stitching.
