This Week I….Watched a LOT of films!
1) The Dictator
Fashion: Shoes: Terry De Haviland Tights: Jonathan Aston Short Suit & Tee: Twenty8Twelve Hair: Four London Jewellery: MYFLASHTRASH.COM Silver Service
Verdict: Satire & Slapstick with some outrageous racial comments, Sacha Baron-Cohen is back with his familiar form of comedy. Funny in moments, but perhaps more for the boys.
2) Head Hunters
Waited to watch this film for ages and it did NOT disappoint! A concise Scandi-thriller, it’s so well rounded and satisfying. Managing to balance thrills with romance, horror & humor. I tend to watch most foreign films that come to London, if they manage to make it mainstream in the UK you know they have to be good. In this case brilliant.
3) 2 Days in Paris
Fashion: Dress Maria Grachvogel, Jewellery: Lucky Sea Horse Necklace MYFLASHTRASH.COM Catherine Zoraida, Tess Van Ghert Hamsa Bracelet MYFLASHTRASH.COM
Verdict: Julie Deply admitted before the film that she has managed to coin a new French American style of Cinema that will start with her and end with her. With a dark sense of humour and a pessimistic if not eccentric vision, the film as with most indie films was difficult to get stuck into, but without realising, a quater of the way through I was immersed into this kitsch tale. Chris Rock felt out of place however his scenes with a life-size Obama cut out were probably the best bit.
4) 21 Jump Street
Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum become under-cover detectives at a high school with hipster cool kids aiming to un-cover a drug operation. A portrayal of what high school is like apres Glee aka it ain’t like Clueless anymore which sucks. The film is hilarious and Johnny Depp makes a cameo. Fresh.
