I’ve been in Korea for a week now working on the FLASH TRASH own brand jewellery line. In between assembling samples and seeing suppliers, I’ve been trend-hunting around all the night malls and super cool concept stores for inspiration!

One evening I went off to explore Cheong Dam Dong, an up market shopping district popular with wealthy trend-setting Koreans. After spotting a particularly fashionable pair of girls I did what every fashion hungry lost foreigner would do- I followed them..down an empty side street! However before I could get very far with my fashion stalking, a bright red handbag caught my eye.  I wandered over to the window where the bag was framed in the ubiquitous concrete fashion store structure, and walked in to discover Couronne.

Couronne is a Korean luxury leather brand selling exquisite bags, shoes and other cute accessories. Owned by the Korean manufacturing giant Kolon (interesting company distributing everything from major fashion and lifestyle brands to chemicals)  the brand has over 60 stores in Korea, however only now is it being picked up in the west, with bags spotted around the arms of popular fashion bloggers and celebrities such as Jessica Alba.
